where did you get the pop up stopper? I keep on getting pop-ups advertising many different products, but would ideally like something that is free.

thanks Glenny. I'm hoping it kills the Say Something pop ups as well.

I thought the horrible pop-ups were the lifestream of these forums?

They don't have to be. Why are we even still using proboards? I'm sure there's enough technical minded people on this board to be able to set up an open source perl board. Such as the one at: www.yabbforum.com/ (which is identical in functionality to proboards, except it's free). It would mean no ads of any kind. ...just a thought.

Dunno...moving boards is rarely a clever idea. It seems clever, but in the end, people will prefer this joint still. This is where the old threads are, the private messages, stuff like that.

Well, it's up to everyone here of course, but it would mean no ads. The status quo would stay the same with Katy as Moderator of course and everything including the design would be as it is as now. The only difference would be that'd be no ads. Here's an example of an unused for now YABB board I have that someone set up for me: www.slowass.net/~tiberius/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgiPlay around with it if you like. As you can see, there's no diff to it and proboards minus the ads. *shrug* Up to ya'll.

Hmm well i have definetly been thinking about moving because it i had a board like that hosted on my webspace, it can be intergrated with the website properly i.e. latest topics, members online on the news page etc.
But i thought it would suck having to start from scratch again with no topics or members.
I was also reluctant too because i love the proboards layout, but that one is identical!
What does everyone think since it will affect everyone?
