Has anyone seen this? If so, could you please help me make some sense of it?
I love the way David Lynch films are shot, but they don't make any sense!
*Utterly confused*

Ask Luceluna to explain it to you then... (and that's for both of you ).

Note use of the word 'anyone' in the original post I think I have it sorted though...there's a great article on Salon.com about it...helped me make sense of the total change in direction during the last third of the film. Still bloody strange, but in a slightly more understandable way now

Twin Peaks was visuall stunning, and a completely enthralling journey. My only problem with is was that Lynch had little to do with the writing of the much hated 2nd series, and this really diluted the quality of the program, not to mention convoluted the plot.

that song is fucking spine-tingling i am watching Lost Highway at the moment. half-way through and i can safely say that it makes a lot less sense than Mulholland Drive.

Even David Lynch himself doesn't know what Lost Highway's about, so I wouldn't feel too bad about that champ

sounds like the last couple of scenes in Kubrick's "space odessy 2001" or what ever the hell that film is called. It's like the acid kicks in about 4/5ths of the way through the film and then it just gets plain strange

Apparently you have to read the book to get 2001. As far as I can tell, when everything aligns...whatshisname takes humanity's next evolutionary step, but Kubrick had a hella strange way of demonstrating it as far as I'm concerned

i don't, trust me i don't think it's supposed to make total sense. although i got The Complete Lynch (a book) last night and was reading the Lost Highway section this morning. i skipped some of the "plot summary" bits (didn't want to ruin the memory in my mind), but Lynch and Gifford (co-writer) did plan the plot meticulously and have an "explaination" for everything - even if they don't neccesarily want you to stick to their version of events.

Oh my god what an utterly fanstastic and mesmorizing film, is "Mullholland Drive"!! I haven't seen a film as good as that in ages. It's so complex that you could watch it a dozen times and still get something new out of it each time!! I just loved the black humor and radiating pathos! The twists are just mind boggling, but ironically it all makes sense in the end. Especially if you understand Italian that SONG is spine tingling and stomach churning all at the same time. ;D and as for the brunette, rita... :hubba: :hubba:

yes your right the film is awesome and I stand corrected, they were singing in spanish - I was confused because I could understand some of it; besides there is a bees dick difference between spanish and italian anyway! the brunette is far more sensual...I didn't know you had a thing for blondes! I watched Lantana today. What do people thing of that film?
