if the QOTSA drummer wore a dave mask, 85% of the crowd wouldn't be able to see him well enough to tell the difference..

I think it is time for some hard truths children. The F$$ F$ghters have about as much depth as a urine filled wading pool. When Dave Grohl is talking to you (and only you) from the front of the stage, know that his smile is being fueled by the cocaine he snorts off the ivory bathroom sink you've paid for.

Anyone see the piece John Saffron did about the Foo Fighters on his show on SBS last year? Well you know how different bands and artists use their status to support various causes? For example, Something For Kate seem to support Amnesty International, Midnight Oil seem to support trees, and Michael Jackson supports uh... children. Well the Foo Fighters support an organization that exists to convince the world that the AIDS virus doesn't exist. That's right, it's all a conspiracy theory promoted by the health industry to make money.

I can see that Alex Lloyd's cause of choice is the fast food industry. I wonder how many Ronald McDonald's houses that obese whale has built with his diet of Big Macs and Thickshakes.

Well, he's giving needy children a good home - as long as he doesn't flood the ocean when he goes swimming next, I'm fine for him eating McDonalds ;D

Its actually Nate the bass player who is the catalyst behind it all, and the other guys support him. Besides what does it really matter what cause they support, they just play rock 'n' roll. Oh and haven't you heard about all the things that the health industry are doing in Africa, exploiting the situation of millions in order to make billions. Also they're are in the pockets of the US government who happily collect tax revenue for drugs that are often useless or cause more harm. I've had conversations with members of the health industry and a friend who is a senator and they all agree the health industry are quite evil, often blocking forms of medicine that they don't have the patent for. I'm on a rant now so i'll end by just saying that you shouldn't assume that the health industry is working in your best interests.

actually, dave grohl has always been pretty clean drug wise. and i've got nothing against him, but the best thing he ever did was back up vocals on drain you, and his band will never be anything but "nirvana jr" tryhards. Not to say they dont have some great songs. and alex llyod is actually an insurance man- amazing is on the NRMA ad

Still, don't you think it's fairly irresponsible of them if they are supporting an organization which is basically telling people to have unprotected sex because hey, AIDS is a myth? Tell that to the people who died of it. But yeah, they do play rock 'n' roll, and I do like their music even if they don't live in the same reality that I do. Oh and haven't you heard about all the things that the health industry are doing in Africa, exploiting the situation of millions in order to make billions. I'm not saying the health industry is a saint either. The health insurance system in America is particularly disgusting.

Still, don't you think it's fairly irresponsible of them if they are supporting an organization which is basically telling people to have unprotected sex because hey, AIDS is a myth? Tell that to the people who died of it. Firstly the organisation, Alive and Well, isn't saying that AIDS is a myth. What they are saying is that what we are being told about AIDS is a myth, that "most of the AIDS information we receive is based on unsubstantiated assumptions, unfounded estimates and improbable predictions? That the symptoms associated with AIDS are treatable using non-toxic, immune enhancing therapies that have restored the health of people diagnosed with AIDS and that have enabled those truly at risk to remain well." Secondly i don't think that they are telling people to have unprotected sex. More along the lines that people are under the false assumption that by using condoms that they are having safe sex. And that in life long use there is a 100% failure rate in preventing pregnancy and STD's. "The major accomplishment of the condom campaign to prevent AIDS is to impress the promoters, politicians and the public at large that something is being done; and although well-intentioned, it offers more of a placebo than a panacea." There web site is actually very interesting i didn't go through it all but they provide alot of info and statistics that they have sourced from inquires and studies into HIV/AIDS. For anyone interested the Foo Fighters are also supporters of Ralph Nader's book 'Crashing the Party' who is an American Green who is taking on the republicans, democrats and corporations. Also they were the first band in the US to release their last album with a carbon neutral initiative, so that all the greenhouse gases created by the production of their album will be offset by forestry projects. This Public Service Announcement was brought to you by Sonic Death Monkey.

Well that's not exactly what Dave and co said on the program. They seemed to be also encourging people who had AIDS to not take their medicines from the doctor, which is a pretty stupid thing to do. Looking for alternative solutions is all fine and dandy but not at the risk of someone's life.

I second Sonic Death Monkey [glow=purple,2,300]FUCK OFF![/glow]. As far as I'm concerned Dave Grohl is a God. I love him and I don't care what anyone says! Sure the Foo's will NEVER rise up to the level of Nirvana, but I'm sure they don't give a fuck about that, they just want to do what they love to do...make damn good music. I will admit I think there's a couple of their songs that may lack depth (personally I think 'There's Nothing Left To Lose' was overall an average album, nowhere as good as the others) but sometimes you need music like that, not every song can be as genius as the next. Whereas 'The Colour and The Shape' and 'One By One' are both fantastic albums. Anyway Fathershark I don't wanna fight just merely put in my two cents worth. Everyone has their own opinions and tastes and I respect that.
