I loved the balls that they had in giving a record the title "album of the year".
Kind for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime....... is by far my favourite Faith No More record. I used to love lip-synching to "Just a Man" while intoxicated. "Richochet" contains the line that I use as my signature in every post I make here. As a misanthropist, how could I not love "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies"?

king for a day was my favourite for about 5 years.... but turns out real thing and angel dust have the better lastability. i kind of overkilled king for a day, but real thing is still going strong after 13 years. king for a day does compete with the previous 2 very well.... but it sucks that the keyboards took such a backseat on that album

there was a reason for that - Roddy Bottom (the keyboardist) was hopelessly addicted to Heroin at the time, and was rarely lucid enough to contribute to the recording, let alone the writing of the album.

I understand that the Imperial Teen record was completed a long time before King for a Day - it took ages to float to a record label. Probably because it was all shit.

I saw Mr Bungle at Selina's a couple of years back - and I can say that Mike Patton is one of the most disturbing individuals I have ever seen perform.

to be honest, it has been incredibly hard for me to get into any of Patton's work outside of FNM (excluding the Sepultura song he and Jonathon Davies from Korn collaborated on).

ive noticed a fair amount of musicians are moving towards doing scores for movies, Jonathon Davies and Damon Albarn for example, even our illustrious Paul Dempsey is driving the Score-Car.

i can see how its hard to get into mr bungle's disco volante, fantomas first album or solo album.....
but the other 2 mbungle albums, tomahawk, 2nd fantomas, DEP ep, were all pretty much instant appeals.

sure, instant appeals to you. I wasn't roped in like you. However, I do concede that I'm pretty hung up on Faith No More - they were my first musical love, and I followed them for a decade. This makes anything Patton has done since pale in comparison.

Bungle didn't have a record label before FNM. Patton use his leverage with Slash to have Disco Volante released. The members of Faith No More were increasingly pissed off that he used the Epic bandwagon to flog Mr Bungle.
Whilst he was with the band for years BEFORE FNM, did you or I know f*cking anything about them?
