Pi is really cool but I don't know about "one of the most amazing"... it sits a tier below movies like Eternal Sunshine / Fight Club / Blade Runner etc agreed. i wrote that after i watched it, so that moment it was "the most amazing". ive been quoted saying that about 'finding nemo'....but i have my reasons... yay dory.

"Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consimante professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself."

Pi is good indeed. I borrowed it from the library a couple of months ago.

I'm thinking of seeing Somersault, I absolutely loved Jindabyne. I want to see it again - even if it should be film format - does anybody else know much about this movie?
I saw a good movie on SBS a few months ago, Feeling Sexy. It was funny in it's own ways - and set in Brisbane! See, Brisbane isn't that crap!

I'll come see Somersault with ya Deane I've got the soundtrack, you'll like it I think, it's by Decoder Ring. I've heard it's about a 16 year old girl trying to find herself and eventually running away from home. Apparently it focusses alot on the setting and environment, so that'll fill your Jindabyne needs as well

Saw Ripley’s Game. Quite a good thriller. Better than the original even I think.

Mark, I also enjoyed Ripley's Game, as well as the Talented Mr Ripley. I think respectively that those are the fourth and first novels in the Ripley series, explaining the change from profoundly homosexual, smitten with envy Ripley, to confident, mischevious criminal mastermind Ripley.

I thought the movie (as any movie starring a combination of Kyra Sedgewick and Bridget Fonda) blew goats. The soundtrack on the other hand absolutely kicks arse: Would? - Alice In Chains Breath - Pearl Jam Seasons - Chris Cornell Dyslexic Heart - Paul Westerberg Battle Of Evermore - The Lovemongers Chloe Dancer / Crown Of Thorns - Mother Love Bone Birth Ritual - Soundgarden State Of Love And Trust - Pearl Jam Overblown - Mudhoney Waiting For Somebody - Paul Westerberg May This Be Love - Jimi Hendrix Nearly Lost You - Screaming Trees Drown - Smashing Pumpkins
