Things to see, things to see... First and foremost, I want to see 'A Very Long Engagement' the new film from Jean-Pierre Jeunet (the director of 'Amelie') Audrey Tautou also acts in the movie (she played Amelie) It looks fantastic and hopefully I should be seeing it within the next two weeks.... can't wait www.imdb.com/title/tt0344510/'The Motorcycle Diaries' also looks pretty good. It's based on the journals of Che Guevara and the things he experienced while crossing South America on a motorcycle with his friend in 1950. Apparently it doesn't really pay much attention to what Che would become, but it rather illustrates the time in his life when he was opening his eyes to what was around him. Looks good and I think I'll be seeing it in the next few days. Review, trailer etc here- www.imdb.com/title/tt0318462/Also, 'Stage Beauty' interests me from what I've seen... haven't really heard much about it yet though. And 'Finding Neverland' - must see this. Johnny Depp is always fantastic! ;D

I saw Garden State a little while ago. It was by far one of the best movies I've ever seen.

I miss the old Kate Winslet. The Kate Winslet that had bangers and mash at her 1998 (1st) Wedding. This new Kate Winslet is a physical shadow of her former self, and she no longer has the jubblies that helped me sit through Titanic.
Thankfully, I will always have my static filled ex rental copy of Jude to appease me.

i saw I <3 Huckabees today. It was pretty cool, i liked it because it wasn't trying too hard to be profound (unlike Eternal Sunshine of the....), but rather was pretty self-knowing and comical in a dark way. I also liked it because it wasn't preachy and just threw ideas around within a hilarious context. I'd recommend seeing it folks.

I'm running a little behind - I just saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Terrific! Kind of a 'true love will always prevail' story, but minus all the clichés. I also thought it was interesting seeing Jim Carrey in a serious role for once - and he did a tremendous job! I loved the whole idea of the movie - starting at the end, then going back to the middle and then being in his mind most of the time.... as every memory is erased until it reaches the beginning of their relationship. Then going to the end again (which was really the beginning of the movie) and watching them fall in love all over again. Heh, only the people who've seen the movie will know what that paragraph was about Anyway, the filmwork was fabulous aswell. I loved that the director, Michel Gondry, didn't use any special effects.... just tried to get it all out of the actual filmwork by using some trippy camera techniques and unusual sets. All in all - terrific! Definately one of the best movies I've ever seen

It was excellent hey Collette. I love too how it avoids the clichés but manages to be such a sweet film. I like how it explores the issues of what love really is, in that you have to take a person as they are in order to really love them, which isn't always easy. That is to say that love is less a feeling and more an action. You choose to love someone and you act on that love. The movie did a good job of exploring this I felt. I like the question put across too that would we be the same if we could forget our mistakes? Probably not since we can grow from our pain and suffering and if you take our memory of that away then we may not be the same person anymore, just a static shell instead.
Go see it everyone who hasn't yet. It’s great!
