I was wondering what anyone (whose seen it or have presumptious thoughts) thought of The Passion of the Christ? I was watching the movie show on SBS and they didn't like it much, its one of those films that people either hate or find magnificent...
(I haven't seen it btw)

Well as JJJ had that "how many rappers you know flow like this" song I switched briefly to MMM and their reviewer gave it a 5/5 so it must be absolute shite.

I just got back from seeing Lost in Translation, and I'm absolutely astounded by the deeply rich subtlety of this bitter sweet film. I'm totally floored by the performance of craggy faced Bill Murray, and I'll be thinking about the movie for weeks.........

^ rent Rushmore, if you haven't seen it already. I read an interview about Lost in Translation where Sofia Coppola said that she wanted to use the "Rushmore side of Murray" in the film

I've indeed seen Wes Anderson's Rushmore - I also enjoyed that very much. It bothers me that Bill Murray was wasted in the 80's doing shit like Stripes and Caddy Shack when what he is really a character actor.

Before Sunset
A sequel to Before Sunrise (set 9 years later) has already been filmed and released at the Berlin Film Festival, but probably won't come here until July. Mmmm....I can't wait, I hope it's good, because Before Sunrise had the perfect ending, but this one should be great for everyone that saw the first one and are wondering what happened to them. They've retained all the main people from the first film, Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy and Richard Linklater as director.

i love richard linklater and it sounds good so i'll also hope to see it. Passion of the Christ.. a very powerful and violent movie, but i don't know if that's all i got out of it. It certainly portrays the suffering of a man in complete sacrifice very well a little too well.... yeh lost in translation was ace.

Has anybody seen the movie Thirteen? It's supposed to be at the theatres at the moment and I want to see it, but nobody (even the low-budget arty cinemas) are showing it here in Brisbane!
