Hi everyone this is my first post on this board... I have been around on others though... Speaking of which, I never bookmarked the Chapel Street forums, are they still going?

Anyway, here's my H100 things:

Anyone notice a few songs were left off the voting list (again!)? This shits me. A lot of these now won't get into the H100 because people just forgot them, but would have voted for them if they'd remembered... A notable example from last year was Limp Bizkit's Break Stuff... #1 in the Net 50 for a couple of weeks, #2 in Channel V's Top 200 songs of 2000, missed out completely in the Hottest 100.

Here's the list that I noticed... Any others?

PS I don't necessarily like all of these, but it's a good reference for your write-in votes. Hey who at Triple J can we inform of this travesty?

I originally had Optimistic and The Metre in the top 10 but since they got shafted they won't get in at all, which detracts from the validity of the countdown.

Yeah they fucked up the voting list last year too, Whitlams Thank You, Mutha Fukka on a Motorcycle and Metallica No Leaf Clover made it last year and the year before. And this year Renegades will have two years in a row.

sadly I think that alien ant farm are going to be number 1 but i hope there not. I'll be happy if screamfeeder, big heavy stuff and bluebottle kiss just make it in the 100 somewhere.

when the onyas where on there was a small little link up in the corner... as if they were trying not to draw to much attention to it (i guess cause they won last year... i think?)

i doubt JJJ would leave them out cause they thought theyd won enuf awards or something..... if they did thats not fair regardless. i dont see how they could of forgotten them somehow though :/

i think they are so popular ppl will vote for them anyhow so i guess it doesnt matter

That's just my point, they won't vote for it because they won't remember. When I was making the list I was looking at bands that had one song and not another in the list, and completely forgot about Powderfinger until a second or third look. I doubt anyone else would bother.

If it's not in your recall, how can you possibly vote for it even if you did like it?

Im just looking through the history of hottest 100 and found that Joy Division - Love will tear us apart .......was winner two years running and then runner up the next!?

i remember reading that the hottest 100 actually started as your favourite songs of all time, so maybe that's why j-div. made it through twice

I think gorillaz will have a pretty good chance but probably not number one. also Fat Lip by Sum 41 should do well i think seeing its pretty popular.
and about the powderfinger thing, maybe its because theyve won two years in a row??

I'm pissed off that it happened, surely there's some professionalism involved, oh wait it's the ABC.

I'm amazed that there's also no way to let them know that they fucked it up. I e-mailed Robbie Buck and the Net 50 with no luck, I wouldn't have a clue what else to do.

I think we should start our own radio station. One with fair and valid countdowns, and that doesn't consider Fatboy Slim "rock"... We also should put a ban on Shawn Mullins. And pay Merrick and Rosso a shitload to be on it.
