I agree that Tommy Emmanuel is a pretty awesome guitarist. So is that guy from Cream... what was his name?... oh yeah, Eric Clapton. He can play.
It's already been said though, that it's not about who is the most technically brilliant or fastest or whatever. It's about what appeals to you.
I think Paul Dempsey is a great guitarist and lyricsist because his music appeals to me in ways that other songwriters and bands do not.
