Good cover versions, bad ones?
Good ones: Anything by Something For Kate Molly's Lips, Nirvana Just Like Heaven-Dinosaur Jr Firestarter-Jimmy Eat World Jebediah-Push It
Bad Ones: Beds are burning-Augie March. As an Augie March fan i was disapointed in their crappy cover of the midnight oil classic

Its Nirvana. NO more teen spirit covers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked Nirvana's original, but I also like Tori's version. In some ways I think I like it slightly better. She manages to keep the hauntingness and moodiness of the original and improve on it. Speaking of Nirvana covers, I like Killing Heidi's cover of Come As You Are. I was listening to the original Nirvana song the other day and I was thinking just how good of a song it could be if Kurt could sing better. I never thought Ella could sing that great either but she must've improved because her voice I think has more strength and clarity than Kurt's in that same song (especially the I don't have gun bit). As I was listening to the original Nirvana version I started to sing along and I realised that my voice was stronger (in terms of clarity and tone) than Kurt's, and he's the professional. It's a pity he felt the need to kill himself since he was a great songwriter and he could've improved his voice (à la Paul Dempsey, compare him on Glue to him on say Monsters) and gone on to greater things. Instead he died and became a martyr. Bah.
