I was actually unemployed (for the most part) for about 2 years. It's not an empowering sort of life decision. And it was a decision - I was happy sitting on my arse.

Remember Di, no period of unemployment is complete without a spell of drug abuse and self loathing.

I can't figure out which is worse - dealing with arseholes or being unemployed.

I guess that really depends on what you want as an individual at this point in your life.
Shutting down is easier than facing the hard truth about surviving in this world.

Remember Di, no period of unemployment is complete without a spell of drug abuse and self loathing. I was getting plenty of that whilst I was in the throws of employment. In fact that is precisely the reason why I've decided to drop out for six months...I need an alternative!

speaking of employment, my employer (Suncorp) has ungratiously placed me in a non-smoking room for the duration of this week in, erm, Dubbo.
Situation: I've had a few beers and I feel like a smoke.
Fuck Them?

Fuck Them? Dear FatherShark, Is it true that girls go crazy over guys with electronic voiceboxes? If so, should I be taking up smoking now? I don't want to leave it too late. Thanks.

Actually Mark, my fawning yet rapid gigapet, I only smoke cigarettes when I drink - a nasty hangover from actually smoking on a relatively full-time basis until late last year.
Thank you for your concern about my health. I'm moved to the point of exhaustion.

Narelle - I'm sorry to say that Stephen Hawking is happily married.
(Well, as happy as you can be when you're really just a mind in a completely broken body)
