JBT: Oh god yes, saw them at Homebake 2001, absolutely fucking excruciating. 15 minutes for the first song of the set is really an unwise thing to do. I had enough time to: 1. leave my mates and all the other smelly hippies in the crowd behind 2. take a look around at the rest of the domain 3. take a leak 4. get bored by Alex Lloyd 5. Sit by a tree and realise it was still the first song. LOL @ That. I'm afraid to go and see JBT live now. You've all scared me off -look at what you've done! |

Serious, anything is better than being bored by some self-righteous, pretentious crap for 15 mins straight, just because some of my friends 'like' them, though they only know.. oh, let me think -- ONE FUCKING SONG -- which he played about 1/2 way into the set. I'd rate the half-assed, concussion inducing Spiderbait set as a better show, honestly. |

as much as i enjoy songs that go for 6-10 minutes, playing them live is just.......wrong.

Serious, anything is better than being bored by some self-righteous, pretentious crap for 15 mins straight, just because some of my friends 'like' them, though they only know.. oh, let me think -- ONE FUCKING SONG -- which he played about 1/2 way into the set. so... he's talented... and he sure knows it.... he's self indulgent, he shows off... and that bored some people... but he's still fucking talented and that is a hell of a lot better to watch than most of the untalented crap that fills up the lineups at the average homebake festival... i'd rather watch a 15 minute song by a good musician thanb three minutes by some crap band...... |

so... he's talented... and he sure knows it.... he's self indulgent, he shows off... and that bored some people... but he's still fucking talented and that is a hell of a lot better to watch than most of the untalented crap that fills up the lineups at the average homebake festival... i'd rather watch a 15 minute song by a good musician thanb three minutes by some crap band...... He's talented, granted, but I'm not so much into his music, to be honest. Probably why I was so bored with it. And 70% of my homebake experiences consist of sitting around, checking the time, and cursing, becuase nothing decent I want to see is on for abouther 3 hours. |
