during silent, golden (jamie doesnt play guitar in that song) he just had the mic and about halfway thru after playing with the heads of people at the front he jumped into the crowd and sang and said 'lift me up' so i got on my knees and he sat on my shoulders and i stood up, i was gonna carry him around like that but he jumped off and got passed around the crowd lying on his back, while still singing. after the song the crowd kept applauding, untill they came back and did everything begins and ends at exactly the right time, then they left, and the crowd still wouldnt shut up and eventually jamie did fathers hands solo
also, they lied about the 13 ppl part. sarah blasko came and did vocals on speak up memory, making it 14

That was you? I was a couple of people behind you at that point. Just as well Jaimie is so damn short! High quality ending to a great show
...Except for the tools who were directly in front of me for the first half and made dumbarse comments all the way through. One of them was actually talking on her phone at one stage, making plans for what to do after.
But anyway, it was great. And also highly convenient for me. I wish more bands I liked played there, instead of shitty hardcore acts

Fucking. Brilliant.....!
My lord, Jamie was right on top of the fucking game, voice, guitar, presence, everything absolutely perfect.
I was directly behind the sound desk, kinda wish i hadda been down the front in the midst..
He did the whole come-down-into-the-crowd bit at the Hopetoun a while back, cept there were only 3 or 4 people down the front, and although he's not the biggest fellow, it woulda been hard to get him up off the ground...
But dear lord that went off, the sound was so good, much, much better than the last time i saw them at the Annandale. Sailors Knot was one of the highlights for me, it just ripped through me.
Yup, that one even beats seeing Dirty Three at the Metro.
But don't worry equal heights, i'm sure they'll be back soon : )
Also got a t-shirt. Woulda liked to have got one of the duelling guitar ones, cept i don't really wear light blue or red... got the car one instead.
Also also, were either of you folks the bloke in the leather jacket dancing? If so, kudos to you.
Also also also, what did you think of Pivot's set? I'd never heard them before, and i didn't really get into it at all. The synth playing was quite daggy in my opinion...

sailors knot was pretty awesome, and sophie sure swings a mean tambourine. i think the highlight was the end of the black birds though. or maybe dream audit. or the judas hands. ah fuck, i cant decide.
i already have one of those red t-shirts and picked up the green car one too
i wasnt the dude in the leather jacket though
i dont mind pivot, that was a pretty good set.

Only got there in time for Pivot's set, which I really enjoyed, and I picked up their album which I had kinda been meaning to do since it came out, but it wasn't really a high priority at the time...
Being a girl, no I wasn't the dude in the leather jacket, but he was pretty damn amusing.
As for Manning, they have had a lot of good bands play there over the years, but since I've been at uni (in 4th year now) they tend to do the hardcore/punk type shows and only occasionally have interesting bands, though the Incubator series they started up last year has drawn a few more along. I'd love to see more bands I like there cos the sound has been good every time I've been, and it is nice and close to where I live.
They also have a free lunchtime series, at which I've seen Jamie play once and missed him another time. And last week Dave McCormack was a lot of fun

And didn't Jamie produce one of their albums and sing on another or something? Don't really know a much about Peabody, but I would have been interested to see them support. What do Model School sound like?

jamie has produced both peabodys albums and makes minor contributions in a few of thier songs (mostly backing vocals that go pretty unnoticed and handclaps) www.myspace.com/themodelschoolid never heard them before that gig, i didnt mind em

Yeah I'm jealous you got to see a show like that. Seeing Bluebottle Kiss was good, but I doubt I'll get that opportunity. I wish I'd planned a head a bit..maybe I couldve found an excuse to head east for the first time...it's going to happen eventually.

Ah, I hated that feeling of ALMOST being 18, and missing out on great bands (I havn't been out of that feeling long, 20 in january).
Allegedly there's a few guys who tape heaps of BBK shows in Sydney, i know i've seen a couple of guys filming at a few BBK gigs i've been to.
I think the release of a DVD would be pretty unlikely, I mean one with all video clips, live bits etc. But if they released just that show, that would kick arse.

It should be good regardless, I was quite impressed with the sound.
Yeah, Manning bar is a good venue I reckon. It was the first time I went there, and hopefully not the last. One of the best things was that it actually had some fresh air coming through it.

plus if theres ever a gig at the manning that sells out, you can hear it from outside, so just bring a fold out chair and a 6 pack
