.... it's just fascinating that she chose to attribute our rightness to you rather than me... but then again, i know how hard accepting male superiority is for her group hug, anywayz ;D

you're so pretty, we're so pretty..... [glow=red,2,300]spongeboy: "survivial of the fittest also means the destruction of the weak." yes, that's true. are you arguing now that we should protect weaker products/services simply because they're weak? we're not talking about caring for the disabled here (a modern deviation from the 'survival of the fittest' model): we're talking about inferior products that people don't buy any more because they're weaker. are you blaming qantas for "marketing" ansett out of business? or did ansett simply not have what it took to provide the best all-round product (as katy said)? [/glow] i want for a world where the best *PRODUCTS* are produced and rewarded. Like Coke - blind taste tests have consistently shown pepsi to be better tasting, by about 5-15%. Yet Coke has dominated and continues to, why? Betamax videos, macintosh, are the most called upon examples, of superior products losing....but life is life, and humans still hate each other..... i think maybe we're all saying the same thing just different ways? ie. we're all confusing everyone else... to me, the solution is to make governments more independant of the economy they are controlling. usa, world superpower, is governed by multinational comapanies. The person who has the biggest campaign war chest becomes president. Parties buy their way into office at the expense of their independance. whatever. but why do i always get this feeling involving a dead horse and beating impliment when ever i think about politics & economics

The reason Pepsi is favoured in blind taste tests is because sweeter products are almost always favoured in these tests. Because you're usually given one or two mouthfuls, and it's only after the whole can that the sugar is starting to get sickly sweet.
Same as the "New Coke" of the mid-80s. That was sweeter and it was preferred in taste tests, but everyone hated it and so they had to have "Old Coke" and tell everyone that that Coke was Old Coke and not New Coke.

Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline... But it is such a scary place, even for me! 8) Thats why i have to go walkabout, to the place where there is no running water, not electricity (sp), no sounds at all. Just to get some peace... But of course, isn't it self evident, moonlight boy? Besides I haven't seen the evidence of your male superiority yet... So true spongey, where are the ficuses when you need them?

This and other intellectual discourses could be part of the bookclub, no? We could make it a regular little fightclub!!
