powderfinger have had a few political tunes like a dog is the one that comes to mind. Bernard's been playing an active role raising money for the anti woomera group, maybe we might see a few tracks inspired by the refugees on the new album? From memory they had a track appear on the East Timor complitation that came out as well..

Well I was going to comment on her lack of musical knowledge but then I realised- most (not all) pop and R'n'B these days is all made on computers and have lyrics written by other people and it would be biased if we voted on this considering most of us in here love rock. Basically Britney is preety and I will not argue this. I don't like the way she dresses, but I don't like it when girls in my grade dress like that either. I don't know why Britney dresses the way she does. Whether she feels comfortable in it, whether she's a puppet and just gets put in it or whether she's trying to show off her body. Basically I don't care. It is hard not to notice her, especially at my age where everyone loves her But I try not to think about it. Basically Britney Spears pisses me off. It's not really a question of her musical ability because she has been singing since she was a kid. It's more a question of how she's changed. Has she or has she not sold out. Obviously she was not trying to make a trashy radio hit and make a heap of money because as I said, she loves singing and has been doing it for a long time. But have her reasons for doing what she does changed? And for all the guys in the world (not just the guys in here) who think she's hot here's an activity- You may enjoy watching her preform and dance around half naked and because you like her looks you stick up for her when her musical abilities are questioned. How about listening to her CDs. No pictures- just sound. Then see what you think. If your opinions of her change, it was just a looks thing. ____________________________________________ Anyway, I'm in no position to judge. The only person who can judge Britney Spears is Britney Spears herself. If she's happy with what she does- that's good for her. ;D ;D ;D (Read Paul's thing on the official site about the song Paintbrushes.)

This is what i think....and nobody tell me im rong ok because this is just my opion on the matter of britters...
People who dont like her shut up and turn off her music when it comes on and stop bagging,Whether your bagging her for what she is wearing or how big her boobs are ....
People who do like her music shut up and listen to it. And i really think it is that simple.

Clizza to not say anything at all is worse than saying the wrong thing. The more people speak about how they feel the sooner things begin to change. So lets hope that more people will recognise how evil she is, the sooner she will end up on one of those "Where are they now?" shows.

Don’t you think that’s a bit selfish tho Junk? I hate to say it but the majority of people on this earth actually like pop music…. If the other people who like punk or r’n’b say she’s evil lets get rid of her, what happens to those people who love pop? I’ll tell you…they’ll find someone else like Britters and replace her. And the circle of life continues. So it dosnt really matter if we speak out about her because they will find someone else, we cant all have fantastic tastes in music ;D

Well why is it inevitable that we will have to live with crap music, for me i find this to be a very defeatist attitude to take. The manufacturing of pop acts is a relatively new phenomenon. My point is that yes these pop acts do have a short shelf life and the sooner we dispense with the current one, then maybe the record labels will get the picture. Especially after the Mariah Carey fiasco, record companies are starting to take notice of the fact that you can't repeatedly fool consumers with crap products. And its not about liking one genre of music over another, i listen to many genres of music not just rock. I don't dislike Britney cos she is pop, i dislike her for all of the reasons already posted in the forum. The beatles were pop weren't they, so it is possible that someone can write pop tunes and it can still be interesting and good music.
